This Friday, October 19, Design Matters is returning to regular weekly broadcasts every Friday afternoon — and a full season of audio/podcast interviews with designers, artists, writers, thought leaders and general all-around provocateurs. This exciting season will include interviews with Chris Ware, Scott Stowell, Austin McGhie, Aaron Draplin, Rafael Esquer, Christopher Simmons, Jake Barton, Louise Fili, Marion Deuchars, Emily Oberman, Mirko Ilic & Aaron Kenedi, Rodrigo Corral and Jason Kottke.
In October 2011, Design Matters was the proud recipient of the People's National Design Award from the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the award choosen by public voting for a National Design Award. Debbie Millman notes, “Design Matters began in February of 2005 with an idea and a telephone line. I thought it would be a great way to ask my heroes everything I wanted to know about their lives and their thoughts and their careers without seeming stalker-y. In the process, I gleaned the most magnificent view of some of the greatest design thinkers and practitioners of our time. I realized the opportunity to share the brilliance of my guests with an audience I never expected was the gift of a lifetime."
The shows are recorded in a recording studio at the Masters in Branding Program at the School of Visual Arts and will be aired regularly on Friday afternoons through the rest of the year.
Design Observer is pleased to be broadcasting Design Matters, and you can listen to both the new episodes, as well as the entire archive of past shows
